Baker et al., 1953 [BAK53A] The Anglo-Colombian Expedition collected material from various places in Colombia ( Amazonas & Vaupes) in 1952 and involved many different collectors. The material was sent onto Trinidad. The name SPEC was given to everything that was collected including Theobroma species other then T. cacao and Herranias. Bartley, 1983a [BAR83A]. This material is divided into two classes: 1) Collections from the Amazon - up to SPEC 54, 2) Collections from other populations, usually cultivated and of Criollo or Trinitario descent.

Brazil - CEPEC, Itabuna, Bahia Datafile: RO____DC BRA - CEPEC 4, Field Data CAB/RO/AM PROGENY_ Germplasm: Descriptions of 115 AM and RO (renamed CAB) accessions made at the time of collection from the Brazilian Amazon region, Ouro Preto d'Oeste, Rondonia. Environment: This region has a mean total annual rainfall of 1900 mm (1974-1977) with a dry period between June and August and a mean temperature of 25.3°C. Descriptors: The methodology proposed by Engels et al., (1980) [ENG80A] was followed.
